Our Premier League Awards honour the best – and worst – of the weekend action.
Premier League Awards: Nuno dances, Haaland the robot
Moment of the Week
How Nuno Espirito Santo needed this. Winless since arriving at West Ham, the toxicity of the atmosphere at the London Stadium was palpable as fans prepared for a sit-in protest against the club’s ownership.
West Ham were without a win on home soil since February, with the board accused of sucking the soul out of the East Londoners in recent years.

On the pitch, there was positives at last. A 3-1 win over Newcastle lifted the Hammers within three points of safety and it was a win the hosts merited. Lucas Paqueta ignored rumours of personal unrest to shine, while Freddie Potts injected energy into a midfield that has long lacked it. West Ham have a long lineage of academy graduates and Potts could be the latest to step into the side and excel.
At full-time, the celebrations told the tale. Hope for West Ham, after a season of struggle so far.
Player of the Week
Where would Manchester City be without Erling Haaland? We’re now 10 games into the Premier League campaign and the reliance on the Norwegian is apparent. Fortunately, if you’re to rely on any player, the best goalscorer in world football is a pretty safe bet.
Haaland punished a naive Bournemouth backline to score twice at the Etihad, extending his record to 13 goals in 10 league appearances. Just twice before has a player reached 13+ goals after 10 games, with one of those occasions also belonging to Haaland.
He’s now scored 65% of Manchester City’s goals in the Premier League this season. No other player in the squad has netted more than once.
In fact, City’s second top-scorer is Burnley defender Maxime Esteve, who netted two own goals at the Etihad last month. Haaland is brilliant, but whether City’s one-man show is sustainable is questionable.
Goal of the Week
Timing and technique to perfection here. After almost throwing away their recent momentum under Ruben Amorim, Amad Diallo ensured Manchester United escaped Nottingham Forest with their unbeaten run in tact.
A super strike from the Ivorian.
Amad’s magic moment ❤️🔥

Save of the Week
Giorgi Mamardashvili probably anticipated an easier start at Liverpool. Having joined the Premier League champions in the summer, the Georgian has been thrust into a struggling side with Alisson injured.
He finally got his first clean sheet at the weekend and had a big role in the shut-out. This save from Matty Cash’s deflected effort was a demonstration of his quality.

Stat of the Week
Arsenal were at it again in their win at Burnley.
“Set-piece again, ole ole….”
8 – Arsenal have scored eight league goals via corners this season – the most ever by a team in their first 10 games of a Premier League campaign. Inevitable. pic.twitter.com/WEAtkkBWEc

A week to forget for…
Thomas Frank. A powder puff performance ended in defeat to Chelsea, as Tottenham failed to land a glove on their London rivals. The stats make for grim reading, while the Dane was publically snubbed by sulking Spurs stars at full-time.
