AS Roma XI vs Sassuolo – Predicted lineup and team news

AS Roma will look to regain their rhythm when the capital club travel to face newly-promoted Sassuolo in Serie A.

The Giallorossi are eager to come back to winning ways after a mixed run of results, but their forward line remains a key concern for Gian Piero Gasperini.

Head coach Gasperini will be hoping for attacking improvements, despite ongoing struggles up front. Paulo Dybala is back in contention after a thigh injury and recently reached a major milestone by netting his 200th career goal in the Europa League loss to Viktoria Plzen. However, the Argentine star is still working his way back to full sharpness after two months on the sidelines.

Strikers Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson have both endured frustrating spells, with Ferguson yet to score for Roma despite his impressive performances with the Irish national team. Gasperini did not mince his words when assessing his misfiring attack, urging his players to take accountability: “Some players haven’t scored in a long time—they need to look in the mirror and figure out why,” he said.

There’s some positive news for Roma fans as Leon Bailey could make a more substantial appearance after featuring briefly against Inter Milan. The winger’s cameo ended a two-month absence caused by a thigh injury suffered in his first training session upon arrival.

Wing-back Angelino remains a doubt, while midfielder Manu Kone faces a late fitness check after picking up a minor muscle issue during international duty.

AS Roma Predicted Lineup

Possible Roma starting XI: Svilar; Celik, Mancini, Ndicka; Wesley, Cristante, El Aynaoui, Tsimikas; Soule, Pellegrini; Dovbyk.

When will the match kick off?

The match will kick off at 3pm BST on Sunday, 26th October.
