Newcastle United are pushing hard to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich with the forward available for a £30m release clause.
Delap is available for £30m following Ipswich’s relegation from the Premier League, with several top-flight clubs interested in a deal. Manchester United have held talks with Delap, while Chelsea are also in the running.

The 22-year-old is keen to explore all his options before deciding on his next move. Newcastle United are understood to have been ‘wooing’ Delap behind closed doors.
The Guardian are reporting that negotiations have taken place as the Magpies look to add depth to their forward line.
Eddie Howe has offered Delap assurances over his role, making it clear that they believe the forward can play alongside Alexander Isak in attack. Newcastle view Delap as an ideal partner or alternative to the club’s leading scorer, ahead of a potential return to the Champions League next season.
Delap has scored 12 league goals for Ipswich despite the club’s struggles near the bottom of the Premier League table. A regular role will be important to his decision, with a place in England’s World Cup squad for next summer not beyond him.
