Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi wants to leave the club in a bid to boost his hopes of going to next summer’s World Cup.

The striker has barely been used by Antonio Conte during the Italians 18 month reign at Stamford Bridge, and was even overlooked earlier this week despite Alvaro Morata being deemed unavailable. Instead, Conte decided to play with a front three of Willian, Pedro and Hazard against Huddersfield while the Belgian Batshuayi, the only other recognised striker, started on the bench.

According to the London Evening Standard, the Striker wants to leave the club on loan for the rest of the season to get more game time and bolster his chances of being a part of Belgium’s World Cup squad next summer. Belgium, who face England in the group stages of the tournament, have a wealth of attacking riches including a Romelu Lukaku, Christian Benteke, Eden Hazard and Dries Mertens.

Batshuayi has been linked with a potential move to AS Monaco as part of a deal to bring Thomas Lemar to Stamford Bridge. Lemar is wanted Liverpool and Arsenal also, so Chelsea hope that by including a talent like Batshuayi that they can seize the upper hand in negotiations.
