Wolves are currently enduring one of the worst ever starts to a Premier League season after picking up just two points in the first 11 matches this term.Â
Victory has thus far alluded Wanderers, making them one of only 11 teams who have failed to win a game this far into a campaign.
Vitor Pereira has already been sacked as manager as the club desperately search for a way to turn things around. They have somehow convinced Rob Edwards to abandon Middlesbrough in the middle of their promotion campaign to steer a sinking ship through the next 27 games.
The last vestiges of hope among the fanbase have been extinguished, replaced by despair and an acceptance that their return to the Championship after seven years in the top flight is imminent.
But there is the faintest chance Wolves can still mount a great escape. Only 14 teams have accrued four points or less in opening 11 weeks of a Premier League campaign, some of whom somehow managed to survive the drop.
Everton did it back in the nineties after taking just three points at this stage of the season, Crystal Palace have done it twice with four points, and QPR did so with four points back in 2012/13.
That said, just two teams have picked up two points or less at this point and both suffered relegation.
