West Ham consider former favourites as Nuno replacements lined up

West Ham are considering Nuno Espirito Santo’s position as manager following the club’s 3-0 loss at Wolves.

The Hammers were well beaten at Molineux on Saturday, against a Wolves side who had not won a Premier League fixture in the campaign to date – a record 19 games from the start of the season.

The defeat leaves West Ham mired in relegation trouble alongside Wolves, and four points from safety.

Having replaced Graham Potter with ex-Nottingham Forest boss Nuno earlier in the campaign, the East Londoners are now weighing up a second managerial change of the season.

Among the options under consideration is former manager Slaven Bilic. The Croatian spent two seasons in charge at West Ham between 2015 and 2017, and represented the club during his playing career.

Bilic has been out of work since leaving Saudi side Al-Fateh in 2024. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the 57-year-old would be prepared to return to the London Stadium mid-season if Nuno is fired.

Also ‘high’ on the club’s list of options is Michael Carrick. The 44-year-old left his role at Middlesbrough in June. Carrick came through the academy system at West Ham and played 159 games for the club before spells with Tottenham and Manchester United.
