Jean-Clair Todibo says it is a “dream come true” to be a Premier League player after completing his move to West Ham United.
The French defender joins the Hammers from Nice on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for £35 million. The London outfit managed to fend off interest from Juventus, who could not come to an agreement with the Ligue 1 club.
Manchester United had also been looking to sign Todibo, but a deal was not possible. The Red Devils and Nice agreed not to transfer players between each other to ensure they can both play in the same Uefa competition.
“I am really excited to be signing for West Ham United. It is a dream come true to play in the Premier League, the best league in the world,” the 24-year-old said.

“This is an amazing opportunity for me, at a club with huge ambition, who want to really make progress under the new head coach.
“It feels like the right time to be coming to West Ham, in the heart of London, with an amazing, passionate fan-base. I’m so excited to pull on the West Ham shirt, and play at the London Stadium in the Premier League.”
West Ham have been making a big splash in the transfer window, with Todibo being their seventh signing of the summer under new manager Julen Lopetegui.
Max Kilman, Luis Guilherme, Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug, Guido Rodriguez and Wes Foderingham have also joined the club ahead of the 2024/25 season.
