  • Kick-off: 12pm BST.
  • Venue: The Smisa Stadium, Paisley.

St. Mirren team news

St. Mirren approach this fixture amid significant changes behind the scenes following the departure of manager Stephen Robinson, who is expected to take over at Aberdeen after the Scottish Premiership side triggered his release clause.

In Robinson’s absence, Under-19 coach Craig McLeish has stepped into a temporary leadership role for the upcoming match against Rangers, overseeing preparations with a makeshift backroom team.

The Buddies are also dealing with several injury concerns ahead of the clash. Forward Mikael Mandron and defender Marcus Fraser are both expected to miss the game due to injury setbacks.

In addition, doubts remain over the availability of Jonah Ayunga and Conor McMenamin, while Kion Etete is also facing a race against time to be fit for the encounter. Malik Dijksteel is also out as well.

Rangers team news

The Gers also have several injury concerns ahead of the trip to Paisley. Midfielder Mohamed Diomande is ruled out after sustaining a shoulder injury in the recent Old Firm clash.

Connor Barron, Derek Cornelius, and Bailey Rice are also among the players who will miss the match due to injury concerns, leaving Rangers somewhat stretched in depth.

James Tavernier continues to be a vital figure both defensively and offensively, contributing goals and assists from the right-back position and is set to start this match after coming off the bench against Celtic recently.

Manager Danny Rohl has emphasised the need for improved efficiency in front of goal following the cup defeat, with the German coach stating that his team must convert their chances if they want to maintain pressure on their title rivals.

Form

St. Mirren

St. Mirren head into the match in poor form, having failed to win in their last five matches in the league. Although most recently, they defeated Partick Thistle 2-1 in the Scottish FA Cup.

Before that, Rangers have drawn three out of their last four matches in the league which resulted in falling behind Celtic in the league table and into the third position from being second.
