Roy Hodgson has made a sensational return to football management at the age of 78 after being installed as the interim boss at Bristol City.
The Robins announced on Friday morning that Gerhard Struber had been sacked as head coach, stating that “recent performances have not met expectations”.
City have not won any of their last six games in all competitions, losing five and drawing the other, leaving them 16th in the Championship table.
We can announce that Gerhard Struber has been relieved of his duties as Bristol City Head Coach.

Hodgson will take charge of the team until the end of the season while the club search for a permanent head coach ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Hodgson retired from football management in February 2024 when he stepped down as head coach of Crystal Palace after falling ill.
This will be the 24th managerial role of his career, which has seen him manage England, Fulham and Liverpool. He previously took charge of Bristol City for a short spell in 1982, which was just his second job.
