Brendan Rodgers is the early frontrunner to become Wolves’ new head coach following the decision to sack Vitor Pereira.
Pereira was dismissed on Sunday with Wolves winless in the Premier League this season. The Portuguese coach made an immediate impact after arriving last December, steering Wolves clear of relegation trouble.
However, results have since dipped with Wolves rooted to the bottom of the Premier League after Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Fulham.

“Vitor and his team worked tirelessly for Wolves and helped guide us through a challenging period last season, for which we are grateful,” Wolves chairman Jeff Shi said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, the start to this season has been a disappointment and, despite our strong desire to give the head coach time and matches to find an improvement, we have reached a point where we must make a change.
“We thank Vitor and his staff for their efforts and wish them the very best for the future.”

Brendan Rodgers has been installed as the early favourite for the vacant position. The 52-year-old resigned as Celtic manager earlier this month, concluding his second spell with the Scottish champions.
Rodgers led Celtic to four league titles and seven domestic cups during his two stints in Glasgow. He also has prior experience of the Premier League, during spells at Swansea, Liverpool and Leicester City. Rodgers guided Leicester to the FA Cup in 2020/21.
The bookmakers have also placed former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on their shortlist, with other options including Sergio Conceicao, ex-Wolves defender Kevin Muscat, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
