Real Madrid and Elche meet in LaLiga at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night.
Los Blancos occupy second place in the league, having collected 63 points from 27 games, and trail leaders Barcelona by four points.
They head into this clash on the back of a dominant 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.
In their most recent league fixture, Madrid edged Celta Vigo 2-1 thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Federico Valverde.
While Real will be heavily favoured to win this tie, they required a late Jude Bellingham equaliser to salvage a point they faced Elche earlier this season.
Real Madrid team news
Alvaro Arbeloa’s team are dealing with a long list of absentees, with Kylian Mbappe, Eder Militao, Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo Goes, Ferland Mendy, David Alaba, Dani Ceballos and Álvaro Carreras all out and not expected to play any part.
Mbappe will miss this match as he continues his recovery to return for the upcoming Champions League second leg against Manchester City, with the club opting not to risk him in league action.
Franco Mastantuono, the Argentine forward, is still serving a suspension and will also be unavailable.
Given that the crucial Champions League second leg takes place three days later, Arbeloa could choose to make several changes to the starting XI and rest some regular starters.
