Rangers welcome Livingston to Ibrox Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a Scottish Premiership clash that could see the Gers continue their impressive resurgence under new head coach Danny Röhl.
Rangers vs Livingston – Match preview and team news
- Date: Saturday, 22nd November.
- Kick-off: 3pm BST.
- Venue: Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow.
Rangers team news
Rangers will be boosted by their recent form under Danny Röhl, who was appointed as head coach on 20 October 2025 following the collapse of talks with Kevin Muscat. The German tactician has overseen three consecutive league wins, including an impressive 3-0 victory away to Dundee before the international break.
The Light Blues will continue to be without long-term absentees Rabbi Matondo, Dujon Sterling and Kieran Dowell due to injury problems. Matondo is recovering from a knee injury and is not expected back until late November 2025, while Sterling faces a longer spell on the sidelines with an Achilles tendon injury that could keep him out until early January 2026. Dowell is also sidelined with a foot injury.
There are concerns over the fitness of centre-backs John Souttar and Derek Cornelius, who both sustained injuries while on international duty with Scotland and Canada respectively. If either fails to recover in time, Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez are ready to deputise in the heart of the defence.
Mikey Moore, the 18-year-old, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, netted his first Rangers goal in the victory and against Dundee FC and will be keen to add to his tally.
Livingston team news
Livingston manager David Martindale faces a significant injury crisis ahead of the trip to Ibrox, with multiple defensive players unavailable. Defenders Shane Blaney, Adam Montgomery, Cameron Kerr and Ryan McGowan are all sidelined, along with midfielder Aidan Denholm.
Blaney is recovering from a hamstring injury and may not be available until mid-November, while Montgomery is also battling a calf problem that could rule him out until late November. Connor McLennan remains unavailable due to concussion protocols.
Jeremy Bokila has been Livingston’s main goal threat this season with four goals in 11 appearances and
will need to be at his best if the Lions are to trouble a Rangers defence that has kept two clean sheets in their last three matches.
Form
Rangers
Danny Röhl’s side have hit their stride in recent weeks, claiming three consecutive Scottish Premiership victories to climb to fourth in the table. The Gers have 18 points from 11 games and sit 12 points behind leaders Heart of Midlothian.
Rangers ended the Premier League campaign before the international break in excellent fashion, thrashing Dundee 3-0 at Dens Park. Nicolas Raskin opened the scoring with a header after nine minutes before Mikey Moore doubled the lead just five minutes later. Djeidi Gassama completed the scoring with a beautiful curled finish in stoppage time.
Livingston
Livingston are enduring a miserable campaign in their return to the Scottish Premiership, sitting bottom of the table with just eight points from 12 games. The Lions have won just once this season and are winless in their last 11 matches across all competitions.
David Martindale’s side drew 1-1 away to Falkirk in their most recent outing on 8 November. Danny Wilson’s 89th-minute equaliser rescued a point after Brian Graham had given the hosts the lead from the penalty spot.
Predicted lineups
Rangers: Butland; Tarvernier, Souttar, Cornelius, Meghoma; Raskin, Diomande; Moore, Danilo, Gassama; Miovski.
Livingston: Prior; Brenet, Finlayson, Wilson, Montano; Susoho, Sylla; Smith, May, Yengi; Bokila.
