Moment of the Week
Arsenal were not at their best this weekend but the Gunners overcame an acid test at Aston Villa. Two fixtures with this weekend’s opponents yielded zero points last season and Mikel Areta had a point to prove.
After an underwhelming first 65 minutes that had seen Arsenal ride their luck on occasion, Arteta turned to his bench and one of his most trusted game-changers. Two minutes and one touch later, Leandro Trossard converted a cut-back to put Arsenal ahead.

Player of the Week
Cole Palmer is a joy to watch.
Noni Madueke made his mark with a hat-trick in Chelsea’s 6-2 thrashing of Wolves but, as ever, the best Blues’ performances revolve around their number 20.
After the highs of last season the onus is on Palmer to perform, though those exploits were no one-off. The 22-year-old opened his account for the season with a nonchalant finish lifted over Jose Sa, before turning provider to register a hat-trick of assists for Madueke.
In between he was involved in the first goal and hit the woodwork, in a performance dripping with quality.

Goal of the Week
After earning a one-game ban from Tottenham for his off-field antics, Yves Bissouma came back into the Spurs side with a point to prove this weekend. The Mali midfielder certainly announced his return with a stunning strike.
A first-time finish rattled in off the crossbar got Spurs up and running against Everton, as the North Londoners dismantled Sean Dyche’s side in the capital. It’s the sort of strike that makes you wonder why Bissouma does not score more often.

It was a performance to forget for Ollie Watkins as Aston Villa lost 2-0 at Arsenal.
Last season’s leading scorer was guilty of some bad misses at Villa Park, including this fluffed chance when it appeared easier to score.

Watkins will wonder just how he did not score against Arsenal and there’s no doubt the net should have bulged again here.
However, credit where credit is due, this is a remarkable reaction from Arsenal’s David Raya. The Spaniard has overcome a shaky start with the Gunners to become key for Mikel Arteta’s men. Floored from the first effort, he pulled off a sublime spring and save as Watkins looked to bundle in the rebound.
