Man Utd agree personal terms to beat Chelsea to £40m signing

Manchester United look to be beating Chelsea to the £40m signing of Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic according to reports.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea are apparently keen on bringing the creative Croatian to the Premier League, but it is apparently Jose Mourinho who has gained the upper hand over his former club.

It is claimed that Manchester United have agreed personal terms of around £100,000-a-week to take the 28-year-old from the San Siro to Old Trafford.

The only sticking point in a deal for the former Wolfsburg man is the asking price being asked for by the Nerazzurri. Inter Milan are believed to be asking for around €45m (£40m), which is of course no small fee for a player less than two years away from his thirties.

Jose Mourinho was first linked with making a move for Perisic a few months ago after he spotted watching him in action for Croatia back in March.

Since then, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with an interest, with the latter willing to use former Man Utd winger Angel Di Maria as a makeweight in any potential deal.

However, Mourinho has apparently got his old friend Pedrag Mijatovic involved to help move Man Utd’s move for Perisic along.
