Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen over a €150m (£127m) deal, including add-ons, to sign Florian Wirtz from the Bundesliga side.
The Premier League champions are set to schedule a medical for the Germany international, who has already agreed personal terms with the Reds. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed an agreement has now been reached between the teams on the final transfer fee.

It will represent a landmark signing for Liverpool, with the fee to set a new British transfer record if all add-ons in the package are met. The current British record is the £115m that took Moises Caicedo to Chelsea in 2023.
Despite competition from Manchester City and Bayern Munich earlier in the window, Liverpool have persuaded Wirtz that his future is at Anfield.
Wirtz will arrive at Anfield having won back-to-back Bundesliga Player of the Year awards. The 22-year-old was an instrumental part of Leverkusen’s maiden title success in 2023/24, as the Germans won a domestic double under ex-Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, without losing a game.
Last season, he scored 10 times and provided 12 assists in 25 league starts. He also impressed in his first Champions League campaign, scoring six times in nine appearances.
Wirtz will become the second senior signing of the summer transfer window for Liverpool. He follows the arrival of former Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong. The Reds are also in negotiations with Bournemouth to sign left-back Milos Kerkez from the South Coast side.
