Liverpool have missed out on one of their summer transfer targets as one of the stars of Euro 2016 completed a deal to move to Borussia Dortmund.
Portugal left back Raphael Guerreiro had been linked with a move to Anfield, but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has lost out to his former club as the defender completed a deal with the Bundesliga club this morning.
Guerreiro completed a medical yesterday before signing a three-year deal with Borussia Dortmund today in a deal worth €12million (£9.5million) from Lorient.
Dortmund sporting director Michel Zorc said:
Raphael Guerreiro is a technically skilled player who feels at home in several positions,
We are very happy that he chose Borussia Dortmund.
The 22-year old impressed last season, making 41 appearances for the French club, earning him a starting position in Portugal’s opening Euro 2016 game against Iceland on Tuesday.
