Lionel Messi might be approaching his forties but there’s plenty of magic still in his boots.
The Argentine icon was at his best to inspire Inter Miami to a 4-0 win over Nashville SC in the MLS play-offs.
Messi scored twice and created another in the rout, as The Herons clinched the Round 1 series 2-1 to progress to the Eastern Conference semi-final. Miami will take on FC Cincinatti next.
His two goals continued his hot streak from the regular season, in which Messi won the Golden Boot. The 38-year-old is also now approaching 900 career goals, after taking his tally to 894 for club and country.
However, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner also passed an assist milestone against Nashville. Messi’s assist was incredibly the 400th goal he has created across his career.
