Joao Pedro has said he has been living his ‘dream’ since signing for Chelsea last summer.
Pedro joined Chelsea from Brighton in a £60m deal last summer and has had an impressive debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian scored a hat-trick and created another as Chelsea climbed back into the Premier League’s top five with a 4-1 win at Champions League rivals Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
Pedro’s treble made it eight goals in his last eight Premier League appearances for the Blues, while the 24-year-old now has 17 in all competitions. His 14 goals in the Premier League is the best return of his career to date.
Speaking at full-time, Pedro said he is fulfilling his dreams by representing Chelsea on the biggest stages,
“It was a dream night for me,” he said.
“Since I joined Chelsea, I’ve been dreaming of these moments to play for a big team and get my hat-trick – and I think it was a perfect night to get my first hat-trick.
“We just need to keep moving forward. I’m just living my dream here. I’m very grateful to everyone who has helped me on my journey.”
