Jesse Lingard is considering a shock move to Corinthians with the Brazilian club a ‘leading option’ for the free agent midfielder.
Lingard is without a club since leaving South Korea’s FC Seoul and is evaluating options from across the world.
The 33-year-old has offers from clubs in the United States, Spain and Brazil as he weighs up his next career move.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Brazilian giants Corinthians are a leading option. The seven-time Brazilian champions have held advanced talks with Lingard as the club look to add the ex-Manchester United midfielder to their squad.
Should Lingard head to South America, he would unite with former Old Trafford teammate Memphis Depay in the Corinthians squad. Former Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista is also part of the playing group.
Corinthians are third in the Brasiliao Serie A table after four games.
