Fulham manager Marco Silva should be managing a team like ‘Liverpool, Chelsea or Manchester United’, according to former forward Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Silva has been in charge of Fulham since 2021, a period in which he has led the Cottagers into the Premier League and re-consolidated the side as a top-flight team.
The Portuguese coach’s contract is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, and Mitrovic reckons Silva will be in demand. Mitrovic thrived under Silva, scoring 58 goals in 75 games under his management, before leaving the Premier League for Al-Hilal in 2023.
Speaking to Flashscore, he called Silva one of the best coaches he has played under and believes the 48-year-old is capable of coaching a team with ambitions to win the Champions League.
“Nothing against Fulham, it’s a great club that I really love, but I think he should manage a team like Liverpool, Chelsea or Manchester United,” Mitrovic said.
“A side that should fight for the Champions League… He’s done a great job at Fulham and hopefully he’ll soon reach even greater heights.
“He’s amazing in every aspect — tactics, man-management, and how he sees football. He wasn’t just my coach; I consider him a friend.”
