Premier League clubs again set the standard for spending in the summer transfer window, with seven sides breaking their transfer record.
Every Premier League transfer record broken this summer
Evanilson – Bournemouth (£40m)
Bournemouth brought in a record fee after selling Dominic Solanke to Tottenham for £65m. A large chunk of that windfall was reinvested in Evanilson, with the Brazil international a coup for the Cherries. The 24-year-old made his international debut in March and arrives after a productive period at Porto, where he scored 60 goals in 154 appearances in all competitions.
Last season was the most prolific of his career (25 goals) and Bournemouth are hopeful that he can be the right player to lead the line under Andoni Iraola.
Igor Thiago – Brentford (£30m)
Brentford lined up their Ivan Toney replacement early, securing a deal to sign Igor Thiago from Club Brugge in a club-record deal in February. The 23-year-old scored 29 goals in 55 appearances for the Belgian outfit last season but his debut will be delayed after picking up a serious knee injury in pre-season. The record recruit is not expected to return until the new year.

Georginio Rutter – Brighton (£40m)
Brighton have often been among the biggest sellers in the Premier League but the Seagulls had the highest net spend in the division this summer.
Fabian Hurzeler has spent £195.7m improving his squad with the biggest investment a £40m club-record deal to sign Georginio Rutter from Leeds United. After a tough start in English football, Rutter found his feet during a brilliant season in the second tier in 2023/24. He scored seven goals and laid on 15 assists for Leeds, who agonisingly missed out on promotion. The 22-year-old is full of potential.
Emile Smith Rowe – Fulham (£34m)
Fulham have handed Emile Smith Rowe the chance to relaunch his career after signing the Arsenal midfielder in a £34m deal.
Smith Rowe’s exciting emergence at Arsenal had stalled due to injuries and he was unable to break back into Mikel Arteta’s plans. After scoring his first Fulham goal on his home debut, Smith Rowe will be hoping to recapture the form that earned him three England caps in 2021.

Omari Hutchinson – Ipswich Town (£22.5m)
Premier League newcomers Ipswich made Omari Hutchinson their record signing, following the winger’s impressive role in the club’s promotion campaign. The 20-year-old shone on loan at Portman Road in 2023/24 and has now made the move permanently, while his impressive form has earned the winger a maiden England u-21 call up for September’s fixtures.

Elliot Anderson – Nottingham Forest (£35m)
Elliot Anderson was a casualty of Newcastle’s need to sell for PSR purpose this summer with Nottingham Forest sealing a £35m deal.
Anderson was well thought of at Newcastle but the combination of a high fee and his academy status paved the path for his exit. The 21-year-old will hope for a more prominent role at the City Ground after just 10 league starts last season.
Dominic Solanke – Tottenham (£65m)
Dominic Solanke was the most expensive signing of the summer transfer window after joining Spurs in a deal worth £65m.
Solanke scored 19 league goals during a career-best campaign at Bournemouth in 2023/24, with the forward appearing to finally fulfil his potential at Premier League level.

Spurs were convinced enough to spend big on the ex-Chelsea and Liverpool youngster, as the North Londoners sought a long-term replacement for Harry Kane. Solanke’s work-ethic appears a solid stylistic fit for Ange Postecoglou’s approach.
