Crystal Palace are braced for bids for Maxence Lacroix this summer with the defender keen to play Champions League football.
Laxcroix has been a standout performer since arriving from Wolfsburg, reuniting with Oliver Glasner in South London. The Frenchman was a key part of the team that won the FA Cup last season and has helped Palace reach this season’s Europa Conference League final.
Lacroix earned his first senior France call-up in March and is determined to become a regular fixture in the national side. He was included in the Les Bleus squad for this summer’s World Cup.
The 26-year-old’s ambitions do not stop there and Palace are aware of the player’s desire for Champions League football.
According to RMC Sport, the Eagles are braced for bids for Lacroix from teams competing in the competition. Palace are in a strong position, with Lacroix contracted until 2029, and will demand the bidding starts at €40m (£34m). However, there is confidence that the proposals could escalate higher amid competition.
Lacroix has ranked in the Premier League’s top 10 performers for interceptions across each of the last two campaigns, and has grown in importance since Marc Guehi’s exit for Manchester City in January.
However, with Glasner set to leave, the centre-back is understood to be prepared for a new challenge.
