Axel Disasi is set to join West Ham United from Chelsea on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Disasi has been frozen out at Chelsea this season and has not made a senior appearance for the club during the 2025-26 campaign.
The Frenchman spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa but failed to secure a permanent move last summer, despite being informed that he did not feature in the club’s plans.
Enzo Maresca’s exit and the arrival of Liam Rosenior offered Disasi a fresh start at Chelsea, with the latter discussing the prospect of the defender’s reintroduction to the squad.
However, he’s now set to leave as West Ham look to bolster their squad before the deadline with a defensive addition.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that talks between the London clubs are at an ‘advanced stage’ and Disasi looks set to become West Ham’s fifth signing of the January transfer window, following deals for Taty Castellanos, Pablo Felipe, Adama Traore and Keiber Lamadrid.

West Ham are currently 18th in the Premier League table and five points from safety. Their 45 goals conceded is the worst defensive record in the division.
