Celtic and VfB Stuttgart face off at Celtic Park on Thursday evening in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League knockout round play-off, with a spot in the round of 16 at stake.
The Bhoys ended the Europa League league phase in 21st place, collecting 11 points from eight matches and scoring 13 goals in the process.
Martin O’Neill’s side are currently enjoying a 10-game unbeaten run in all competitions and have found the net at least twice in each of their last five fixtures, a sequence that includes a 3–2 comeback win over Kilmarnock at the weekend.

Celtic have several injury problems to contend with ahead of Stuttgart’s visit.
Left-back Adam Montgomery is unavailable due to a calf issue, while right-back Alistair Johnston and midfielder Callum Osmand remain sidelined with hamstring and tendon problems and are not expected back until early March.
In central defence, Cameron Carter-Vickers is out for the rest of the season with an Achilles injury, and winger Jota is also ruled out long term after suffering a cruciate ligament problem, further reducing O’Neill’s choices both at the back and in wide attacking areas.
Belgian midfielder Arne Engels is another absentee; he is recovering from a thigh injury and is only anticipated to return to action in a week or two.
