Bayern Munich vs Freiburg – Predicted lineup and team news

The Allianz Arena is set to be the stage as Bayern Munich, the current Bundesliga frontrunners, take on SC Freiburg this Saturday.

While Bayern have built a commanding six-point lead at the top with a blistering unbeaten run, Freiburg arrive aiming to find stability mid-table under the stewardship of Julian Schuster.

Bayern Munich team news

The German champions face this fixture missing two important squad members. Left-back Alphonso Davies, sidelined by an ACL injury picked up in March, has resumed training but is not yet ready for match action.

Manager Vincent Kompany expressed optimism about Davies’ comeback. He said in October: “If he can play a few games in December, then everyone will have done a wonderful job”.

Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala remains unavailable because of an ankle and leg injury, with his return forecasted for mid-January 2026.

Despite these setbacks, Bayern’s frontline remains prolific. Harry Kane is spearheading the attack with 13 goals in just 10 Bundesliga outings. He has made history as the first player to notch 11 goals in the first six matches of a Bundesliga season.

The summer addition of Luis Díaz from Liverpool has also paid immediate dividends, with the Colombian netting six goals and providing four assists across 10 league appearances. Díaz notably scored just 15 seconds into Bayern’s emphatic 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in October. Remarkably, Kane and Díaz have accounted for over half of Bayern’s goals this season, highlighting their attacking threat.

Serge Gnabry has seamlessly transitioned into a more central attacking role during Musiala’s absence, delivering four goals and three assists from nine matches. Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson, on loan from Chelsea, opened his Bundesliga account with a goal in the 3-0 triumph over Bayer Leverkusen earlier this month.

When will the match kick off?

The match will kick off at 2:30pm BST on Saturday, 22nd November.
