Head coach Vincent Kompany revealed on Thursday that the English striker picked up a calf knock and is yet to fully recover ahead of Friday’s fixture. “He got a knock on his calf and hasn’t recovered yet,” Kompany explained. “It’s nothing serious for the time being but we’d need maybe another day for him to be involved”.
Nicolas Jackson is set to fill in for Kane’s absence. Jamal Musiala and Luis Díaz are both fit and will play key roles in Bayern’s offensive setup.
Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito continue to be sidelined, with both players expected to need a further week or two before making their comebacks.
