Bayern Munich not giving up on Luis Diaz deal

Bayern Munich are set to make a new bid to sign Liverpool winger Luis Diaz.

The German champions have had an opening proposal turned down for Diaz, with Liverpool insistent the 28-year-old is not for sale. Diaz has informed Liverpool of his desire to leave this summer and is keen on the move.

Bayern are prepared to try again with Fabrizio Romano reporting a new offer is imminent. Vincent Kompany is keen to reinforce his forward line this summer, with Bayern having seen Thomas Muller, Mathys Tel and Leroy Sane depart.

Jamal Musiala is also facing a significant spell out after suffering a fractured fibula at the Club World Cup this summer.

Bayern have assessed the market for several options and Diaz remains the club’s top target as the Bavarians look to sign a high-profile left-winger.

Earlier this summer, Bayern expressed interest in signing Florian Wirtz, who instead joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen, and Nico Williams. The latter turned down a potential transfer in favour of signing a new contract at Athletic Club.

Alternatives to Diaz are being considered should a deal not be agreed. Lyon winger Malick Fofana is an option for Bayern if Liverpool’s stance on Diaz does not change.
