Barcelona have informed Marcus Rashford that the club want to extend his contract beyond this season.
Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United last summer. The winger has enjoyed a productive spell in Spain, scoring six times and providing eight assists across all competitions.
The Spanish champions have been delighted with his performances and have informed Rashford’s representatives of a desire to keep the England international beyond the current campaign. Barcelona have a €30m option to sign Rashford permanently.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that there is no ‘guarantee’ that Barcelona trigger that fee, with a deal dependent on the club’s finances and Rashford’s salary demands. However, the Catalans are pleased with the player’s performances.
Rashford is understood to be happy in Spain, with his stance on a potential return to Manchester United unclear as things stand.
United are currently conducting the search for a new head coach following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim on Monday.
