Arsenal willing to break club transfer record again

Arsenal are willing to break their club record transfer fee for a second time this summer as they continue their pursuit of Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the midfielder for several weeks and according to the Mail on Sunday they are ready to make their move.

They claim that Arsenal are ready to make a £45m offer for the France international in a deal which could rise to beyond the club record fee of £52m paid for Alexandre Lacazette earlier this week.

The Gunners have already failed with bids of £30m and £40m for the 21-year-old, who scored 14 goals in 55 appearances for the newly crowned Ligue 1 champions.

Having already lost Bernardo Silva to Manchester City, Monaco are desperately trying to keep hold of their star players. Kylian Mbappe, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Fabinho and Benjamin Mendy have all joined Lemar in the footballing gossip columns this summer regarding potential transfers.

Arsenal have also been linked with with a move for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez.

Gunners fans, is Lemar the ideal signing for Arsenal? Is he worth £50m+? Would Mahrez be a better option? Leave us your comments and thoughts.
