Arsenal host Brentford on Wednesday night, looking to maintain their momentum in the title race.
The Gunners are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League meetings with the Bees. Moreover, they have won six of their last seven home league games, turning the Emirates into a fortress.
Mikel Arteta will be wary of Brentford’s threat on the break, particularly from set-pieces. However, Arsenal are the league’s most potent team from dead-ball situations themselves. With key players returning to fitness, the league leaders will be confident of securing another three points in this London derby.
Arsenal team news
Mikel Arteta is set for a defensive reshuffle as Arsenal prepare to face Brentford, with first-choice centre-back Gabriel Magalhães ruled out with a thigh injury. His partner William Saliba is also a major doubt after missing the weekend’s draw with Chelsea due to a knock. Consequently, the manager is expected to stick with the makeshift partnership of Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapié, who started at Stamford Bridge.
There is positive news in midfield and attack, however. Captain Martin Ødegaard is in line to return to the starting lineup after making a cameo appearance off the bench at the weekend. Up front, summer signing Viktor Gyökeres is pushing for his first start since returning from a hamstring injury, looking to reclaim the central striking role. He will be supported by Eberechi Eze, who has been in electric form at the Emirates this season, notably scoring a hat-trick in the recent North London Derby.
Arsenal predicted Lineup
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; White, Mosquera, Hincapie, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Zubimendi, Rice; Madueke, Gyokeres, Eze
