Spurs have beaten Arsenal to the signing of teenage prospect James Wilson on Transfer Deadline Day.Â
The Gunners were engaged in talks with Hearts over a deal to bring the striker in on a trial basis before potentially signing him to their academy.
Tottenham, however, have gazumped their north London rivals by completing a deal with the Scottish Premiership leaders on the final day of the January window.

Wilson joins Spurs on loan with an option to buy and is expected to play for the under-21s team.
The youngster became Scotland’s youngest-ever debutant when he made his maiden international appearance last March, eclipsing a 138-year record for the national team.
The 18-year-old has already made 45 senior appearances for Hearts, scoring five goals. He has played just 78 minutes of football in the Scottish top flight this season.
