Arsenal have joined the list of clubs interested in signing Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace.
Wharton is set to be one of the most coveted players of the summer transfer window, with a host of Premier League teams targeting the England midfielder.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been named as suitors of Wharton in recent months, while Arsenal are now understood to be contemplating a move.
With Palace expected to sell in the summer to fund a rebuild under an incoming head coach, the 22-year-old looks likely to move to a club in Champions League contention.
Sky Sports say Arsenal are in the race, where Wharton could reunite with former Palace teammate Eberechi Eze in North London. However, Arsenal will need to sell this summer to finance significant deals. Palace value the midfielder in excess of £70m.
Wharton has built a reputation as one of the best deep-lying playmakers in the Premier League at Palace.
He’s recorded five assists for the Eagles this season and ranks among the top 12% of midfielders across Europe for key passes and progressive passes completed.
