Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing Levante forward Karl Etta Eyong.
The Cameroonian is on the radar of Europe’s top teams after a brilliant start to the La Liga campaign. Etta Eyong signed for Levante from Villarreal in a deal worth just €3.5m, but has scored six goals and provided three assists in just 12 league appearances.
Clubs are circling the 22-year-old ahead of the January transfer window, with Spanish outlet Sport claiming there is concrete interest from North London.
Arsenal are monitoring the player’s performances, as Mikel Arteta seeks competition for Viktor Gyokeres. Injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have left Arsenal short of forward depth this season, with Mikel Merino used as an auxiliary option.
Levante rejected a €30m (£26.5m) offer from CSKA Moscow recently and are aware of interest from some of Europe’s top teams. Real Madrid and Barcelona have each tracked Etta Eyong’s progress this season.
The forward made his debut for Cameroon earlier this year and is expected to form part of The Indomitable Lions challenge at the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins next month. Etta Eyong recently discussed his ‘dream’ to play in the Premier League at some stage of his career.
