Arsenal were left with four injury concerns following their win over Crystal Palace on Sunday as Mikel Arteta provided the latest information to hand.Â
The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to four points with a 1-0 win after Eberechi Eze scored against his former side.
Both Liverpool and Manchester City lost this weekend, leaving Bournemouth as their closest challenger, four points behind.
Arsenal injury latest amid Rice, Saliba, Calafiori and Martinelli concerns
The win may have come at a cost, though. William Saliba was subbed off at halftime, while Declan Rice looked like he was carrying a knock as he exited the pitch late one. Riccardo Calafiori was taken off at the same time.
Speaking after the match, Arteta said: “Well, the first one was Willy that obviously had to be out after the first half, Declan as well was struggling from the first half with a knock that he took, and who was the other one? Ricky. As well. So yeah, let’s see how that will go.”
He added: “On Willy there are two things related to his substitution and with Declan I don’t really know because it was a knock. But I don’t know if it was the calf or the Achilles or what exactly it was.”
Gabriel Martinelli was seen limping down the tunnel after the full-time whistle, raising concerns that he too may have injured himself.
“Yeah, I think so,” Arteta said. “We have to check that one. He was a bit uncomfortable. He said he felt something. We don’t know whether it’s a muscular issue or not. Tomorrow we’ll have more news.”
