Arsenal injury boost as Arteta reveals trio near to returns

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said he expects to have Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard, and Noni Madueke available later this month.

Each of the trio have been missing for Arsenal in recent weeks. Odegaard has endured an injury-hit start to the campaign but the Arsenal captain is close to a return from a medial collateral ligament injury.

Summer signing Noni Madueke saw his positive start at Arsenal halted after picking up a knee issue last month. Meanwhile, Havertz has not played since the opening weekend after undergoing minor knee surgery.

Speaking ahead of this week’s clash at Burnley, Arteta provided a positive update. He confirmed all three players are in contention for the North London derby clash against Tottenham on November 23rd.

“Yes, I am excited,” he said at his pre-match press conference.

“They are tremendous players and I see them work every single day and how desperate they are to be part of the team. It will be such a huge boost for the squad to have them and to have those players available after such a long time, so I am very happy that it could be very soon.”
