Manchester United outcast Onana set for another loan move

Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana is set to sign for Trabzonspor on a second straight loan deal.

The Cameroon international made 33 appearances on loan with the Turkish side last season, after being informed that he did not feature in Manchester United’s plans.

Despite the exit of Ruben Amorim as manager and appointment of Michael Carrick, Onana will not be given an opportunity to regain his place.

Manchester United are happy with Senne Lammens as their number one and are targeting an experience, homegrown, goalkeeper to provide support.

The Red Devils have been linked with moves for Karl Darlow, Sam Johnstone, and Angus Gunns in recent weeks. Both Darlow and Gunn are available as free agents.

As a result, Onana will be allowed to leave on loan once more with Fabrizio Romano reporting that a second deal with Trabzonspor has been agreed. Trabzonspor will pay a loan fee as part of the arrangement.

Onana’s exit will kick-start a goalkeeper exodus at Old Trafford. Radek Vitik and Altay Bayindir are also expected to leave this summer, though Tom Heaton has signed a contract extension.
