Marco Palestra will undergo medical in London on Friday ahead of his transfer to Chelsea from Atalanta.
Palestra will complete his medical examinations before penning a six-year contract at Chelsea, with an option to extend for a further season.
Chelsea have agreed a €55m deal to sign Palestra, following a standout season in Serie A. The right-back spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Cagliari, where he was named Serie A’s Best Defender.
Chelsea have beaten competition from Inter Milan and one unnamed Premier League side for Palestra, who made his debut for Italy in March.
He’s set to become Xabi Alonso’s first major signing as Chelsea coach, following the appointment of the ex-Real Madrid manager.
“I’m happy to join Chelsea. I’m so happy for this new chapter,” Palestra said ahead of the move.
