Tottenham want £20m as bids rejected for forward Lankshear

Tottenham Hotspur have rejected multiple approaches for Will Lankshear with the club demanding a fee in the region of £20m.

Lankshear impressed on loan with Oxford in the Championship last season, where he scored 12 goals and added four assists. Several sides are keen on the 21-year-old, both in England and Europe.

Middlesbrough failed with a £15m offer for Lankshear in January, a fee that would have been dependent on promotion.

Hayters are reporting that Sporting CP are among the clubs interested in Lankshear. The Portuguese side have tracked the player’s progress this season and believe Lankshear has the potential to follow Viktor Gyokeres from the Championship to the Primeira Liga. Gyokeres joined Sporting from Coventry City in 2023 and scored 97 goals in 102 games before signing for Arsenal last summer.

Spurs are not actively looking to sell Lankshear, and are open to allowing the forward to spend another season on loan in the Championship.

However, bids of around £20m would be considered for the academy product to fund the club’s transfer business.

Spurs are set to invest heavily this summer and are interested in £100m-rated Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali. The North Londoners have also agreed a £52m fee with Brighton for Jan Paul van Hecke.
