Sesko names ex-Manchester United forward as role model

Benjamin Sesko has named former Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic as one of his football idols.

Sesko signed for Manchester United last summer and scored 11 goals in the Premier League during a productive first campaign at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old’s performances helped Manchester United to Champions League qualification, with Sesko scoring nine times across the second half of the campaign.

The Slovenian arrived in Manchester from RB Leipzig regarded as one of the best number nine prospects in Europe.

His tall frame and technique have earned Sesko comparisons to Ibrahimovic, who who scored 29 goals in 58 appearances during his one-and-a-half season spell at Old Trafford.

Discussing his role models, Sesko named the ex-United frontman as a player he looked up to. Speaking in an interview with Give Me Sport, Sesko said: “I looked up to Ibrahimović because he was amazing. But also football in general. Skills, goals. Things I tried to copy in the garden or on the street. It didn’t matter if it was really hot in the summer, I just wanted to get better all the time.”
