Manchester United extended one of the most remarkable records in English football following the club’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Michael Carrick’s team concluded their home campaign with an action-packed win over Forest at Old Trafford, with goals from Luke Shaw, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo earning the points.
The victory maintained an astonishing home record for United. The Red Devils are now unbeaten in their last 400 home games in which they’ve led at half-time.
It’s a record that dates all the way back to August 1983, when Nottingham Forest overturned a 1-0 half-time deficit to win 2-1 at Old Trafford.
Kevin Moran’s 12th-minute goal put the Red Devils ahead, before Viv Anderson and Peter Davenport earned the visitors the points after the break. Both Forest goal scorers would eventually become Manchester United players in the future.
Since that defeat, Manchester United have won 91.25% of their home games in which they’ve led at half-time, winning 365 times and drawing 35.
