Manchester United chase deal for Leicester teenager Monga

Manchester United and Manchester City are looking to capitalise on Leicester City’s relegation to League One with a move for Jeremy Monga.

The 16-year-old winger is considered one of the brightest young talents in English football and the Manchester clubs are chasing a deal.

Monga made his debut for the Foxes in the Premier League, aged just 15, and has made 26 appearances in the Championship this season. He is the third-youngest player in Premier League history, behind Arsenal duo Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman.

However, back-to-back relegations leave Leicester facing a huge overhaul, as the club prepare for the third tier.

Givemesport are reporting that Manchester United want to sign Monga, as part of the club’s renewed focus on acquiring elite youth prospects. The Red Devils are set to approach the England u-19 international, but face competition from top clubs in England and Europe.

Monga is one of three Leicester prospects that United are tracking. In addition to the winger, the Red Devils are also keen on Louis Page and Olabade Aluko, who have both made senior debuts across the last 12 months.
