Anthony Gordon keen to explore Newcastle exit this summer

Anthony Gordon is open to exploring an exit from Newcastle United this summer, amid interest from leading European clubs.

Gordon has attracted transfer interest from sides in the Premier League and Europe, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich all named as suitors in recent months.

The 25-year-old has scored 17 goals in 46 games this season, including 10 in the Champions League.

Newcastle’s expected absence from that competition next season has led Gordon to assess his future, with the Magpies 14th in the Premier League table after a disappointing campaign.

Gordon is the latest Newcastle player keen to explore his options, following the sale of Alexander Isak last summer and January uncertainty around Sandro Tonali.

The Telegraph are reporting that Gordon is open to leaving, but wants his future resolved before the World Cup. Gordon is set to form part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad for this summer’s tournament and is keen to avoid the distraction of transfer speculation.

Gordon is contracted to Newcastle until 2030 and the Magpies are in a strong position. It’s understood that any offers would need to exceed around £70m to tempt the club into a sale this summer.
