Eberechi Eze just loves playing in the North London Derby. Having been at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur last summer, Eze has haunted Spurs since opting for their arch-rivals.
Eze became the first player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick in the first North London Derby of the season, scoring three times as Arsenal thrashed Tottenham 4-1 at the Emirates.
Recalled to the starting side for the reverse fixture at Spurs this afternoon, he opened the scoring at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for his fourth North London Derby goal of the campaign.
Incredibly, Eze’s goal was his first shot on target in the Premier League since netting his hat-trick goal in that win over Spurs on November 23rd.
However, the 27-year-old’s joy was short-lived as Spurs struck back just 24 seconds after the restart. Randal Kolo Muani capitalised on Declan Rice’s error to equalise for Spurs and level proceedings.
