Mikel Arteta has said that Martin Zubimendi has earned the respect of everyone at Arsenal after an outstanding start to his career with the club.
Zubimendi has settled swiftly following his £51m move from Real Sociedad in the summer and scored the winner as Arsenal beat Chelsea 3-2 in the Carabao Cup semi-finals in midweek.
The Spain international has been a key part of Arsenal’s pursuit on all fronts. Arteta’s side remain in both domestic cups and lead both the Premier League and Champions League standings.
Speaking to the media ahead of facing Nottingham Forest at the City Ground tomorrow evening, Arteta heaped praise on the summer signing.
“Very happy, in the manner that he has settled at the club. When you talk to any member of the staff or player about him, there’s a big smile on their face and something very positive coming out of their mouths.
“He has earned the respect of everyone here very very quickly and of the supporters. He’s very humble, very focussed. Incredibly consistent. And on top of that, he has surprised a few people with his ability to attack in the box.”
