Bournemouth and Burnley face each other this Saturday at the Vitality Stadium for round 17 of the Premier League.
The hosts have picked up 21 points and currently lie in 13th position. In their last fixture, Andoni Iraola’s team shared the spoils in a frantic 4-4 draw with Manchester United. They face a Burnley side in deep trouble.
The Clarets have just 10 points to their name this season and occupy 19th position in the table. Last time out, Scott Parker’s team slumped to a 2-3 defeat against Fulham. Consequently, the pressure is mounting on the visitors to arrest a dismal run of form.

Team News
Bournemouth
Andoni Iraola has received mixed news ahead of this clash. Crucially, talisman Antoine Semenyo remains in the UK as Ghana failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations. Amine Adli is also available after missing out on the Morocco squad. However, the treatment room is busy. Tyler Adams suffered a knee injury just five minutes into his return against Manchester United. He joins Matai Akinmboni, Ben Doak, and Veljko Milosavljevic on the sidelines. Ryan Christie remains a doubt with a knee problem.
Burnley
Burnley’s long trip to the coast will be the first time they are without a trio of players due to AFCON. Axel Tuanzebe, Hannibal Mejbri, and Lyle Foster have all jetted off to represent their respective nations. Additionally, Hannibal was still serving a suspension regardless. On a positive note, Lucas Pires and Kyle Walker return from one-game bans. However, the injury list includes Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer, Connor Roberts, and the recovering Bashir Humphreys.
Form
Bournemouth
After seeing off Nottingham Forest in late October, Bournemouth were challenging near the top of the table. However, they have not won a single league match since then. Their current seven-game winless streak has seen them slide down to 13th. Despite this, Andoni Iraola will take heart from the fight shown at Old Trafford, where Junior Kroupi’s late equaliser secured a point. Interestingly, the Cherries ended a similar 13-game winless run against Burnley in 2023, giving them a psychological edge here.
Burnley
Scott Parker was treated to chants of “you don’t know what you’re doing” last weekend as his side lost their seventh consecutive league game. Defeat here would see them equal their longest-ever losing run in league history. Their defensive record is alarming; they have conceded 23 goals in eight away league games this season. In fact, Parker has seen his teams concede 36 goals in his last 10 away games as a manager, the worst ratio of any boss in recent years.
Predicted Lineups
Bournemouth predicted XI: Petrović; Smith, Diakité, Senesi, Truffert; Tavernier, Scott; Jiménez, Kluivert, Semenyo; Evanilson
Burnley predicted XI: Dúbravka; Sonne, Ekdal, Estève, Hartman; Ugochukwu, Cullen, Florentino; Anthony, Bruun Larsen, Flemming
