Unai Emery lauded the Aston Villa fans for playing their part in Saturday’s dramatic 2-1 win over Arsenal in the Premier League.
Matty Cash got the ball rolling with a lovely finish half an hour into the game, before Leandro Trossard levelled matters shortly after the interval.
Both sides created their fair share of chances to win the contest inside 90 minutes, but it was Emi Buendia who popped up deep into stoppage time to send the home crowd into raptures.
The result sees Villa go to within three points of the Premier League leaders, bolstering their unexpected title charge while dealing a blow to Arsenal‘s hopes.

“So happy. We finished this week playing like we needed,” Emery told TNT Sports after the full-time whistle.
“Firstly competing, being demanding of ourselves, adapting to the opponent, but playing with personality, dominating sometimes, getting in the box, being aggressive and intense when needed.
“I am so happy because Villa Park is special. The supporters transmit their energy.
“Of course we need to transmit our energy to them and we did that. And then play football. How the players are responding is really fantastic.”
