Manchester United winger Bryan Mbeumo will not compete at next summer’s World Cup after Cameroon suffered a devastating defeat in World Cup qualification.
Cameroon are out of Africa’s World Cup qualifying after losing to DR Congo, courtesy of a 91st-minute winner from former Newcastle defender Chancel Mbemba.
The loss is a major blow to The Indomitable Lions, who are ranked six places above DR Congo in FIFA’s world rankings.
Mbeumo started the defeat, alongside out-on-loan Manchester United teammate Andre Onana and Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.
