Chelsea have a ‘concrete’ interest in signing Vitor Roque from Palmeiras as the club look to add another centre-forward to their squad.
The West Londoners are weighing up a move for Roque, who has scored 20 goals in 52 games for the Brazilian side since returning to South America earlier this year.
Roque had joined Barcelona in a high-profile deal in 2023 but struggled to establish himself in Spain.
After a six-month loan spell at Real Betis in 2024/25, he joined Palmeiras for €25.5m in February. The deal set a new recordas the most expensive signing in South American football history.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are closely monitoring his performances. The Blues were forced to recall Marc Guiu from a loan spell at Sunderland in August, following the departure of Nicolas Jackson.
Roque is viewed as another option at number nine, where he would compete with Liam Delap and Joao Pedro for a role in Enzo Maresca’s team. Palmeiras are understood to value the 20-year-old at around €50m (£44m) and Roque is receptive to a European return.
Speaking in an interview with AS, the forward called it his ‘dream’ to return to Europe despite his struggles in Spanish football.
