Team News

Crystal Palace

Manager Oliver Glasner is hopeful that most of his squad from the midweek win over AZ Alkmaar will be available. Midfielder Adam Wharton remains a doubt to start after playing 30 minutes on Thursday as he continues to recover from a chest illness. Defender Chadi Riad has suffered a minor setback in his recovery from a knee injury and is unlikely to feature. The Eagles remain without long-term absentees Eddie Nketiah (thigh), Cheick Doucouré (knee), and Rio Cardines (groin).

Brighton

Brighton boss Fabian Hürzeler has been handed a defensive boost, with Joël Veltman available for selection after recovering from a calf injury. Winger Kaoru Mitoma (ankle) is rated as “50-50” and will face a late fitness test. The Seagulls will be without Jack Hinshelwood (ankle), James Milner (muscle), and Brajan Gruda (knee), who all remain sidelined.

Form Guide

Crystal Palace

Palace are ninth in the table and are on their best run of the season. Their back-to-back league wins over Liverpool (in the Carabao Cup) and Brentford have built significant momentum. Selhurst Park has been a fortress for the Eagles. They possess the longest active unbeaten home run in the Premier League and are one of only five top-flight sides yet to lose a home league game this season.

Brighton

Brighton, who have had a full week to prepare, sit 10th in the table. Their 3-0 victory against Leeds last Saturday was an important result, ending a run of two consecutive league defeats to Manchester United and Arsenal. Fabian Hürzeler’s side have been inconsistent but remain just one point behind their rivals. They will be looking to end a poor recent run in this fixture, having lost both league meetings last season.

Predicted Lineups

Crystal Palace predicted XI: Henderson; Muñoz, Richards, Guéhi, Mitchell; Lerma, Hughes; Sarr, Kamada, Pino; Mateta

Brighton predicted XI: Verbruggen; Veltman, Dunk, van Hecke, De Cuyper; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Rutter, Kadıoğlu; Welbeck
