Joshua Zirkzee could return to Serie A in the January transfer window with AS Roma leading the race for the Manchester United forward.
Zirkzee has featured for just 74 minutes in the Premier League so far this season, with the Dutch international having fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
The summer arrivals of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko have increased competition for places in the final third, and Zirkzee is yet to start a game across any competition in the 2025/26 season.
Roma are closely monitoring his situation. Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the Italian side are leading the race to sign Zirkzee.
The 24-year-old previously impressed in Italy with Bologna, where he was named Serie A Young Player of the Season in 2023/24. That campaign, he scored 11 league goals to fire Bologna to Champions League qualification.
However, Roma are not the only team in pursuit. Ambitious Como are also interested and have the finances required to secure a deal.
🚨🇳🇱 Joshua Zirkzee could consider a move back to Italy if his current situation doesn’t improve.
Juventus, Inter, and several other clubs showed interest in past windows, but Zirkzee decided to STAY at Manchester United.

Cesc Fabregas’ side spent big in the summer with their recruits including Alvaro Morata, Martin Baturina and ex-Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn. Zirkzee is also understood to be an option under consideration in the Premier League.
Everton and West Ham have been mentioned as potential January destinations.
